One person reportedly suffered injuries in a shooting incident near two schools in Newark's Central Ward Monday night.
According to a preliminary investigation, gunfire rang out on the 18th Avenue side and between the Central High School and Kipp Bold & Thrive Academy just before 9:30 p.m.
Residents in Pilgrim Village said shooters arrived in the area and began firing on a male before fleeing the scene.
Newark Police Major Crime Shooting Team responded and found the victim reportedly in stable condition.
The suspects remain at large.
