Police reported no injuries in a shots-fired incident in Newark during the overnight hours.
A Shot Spotter device activated and alerted police of gunfire in the vicinity of Hunterdon Street and 18th Avenue around midnight.
Police arrived and found shell casings, but no victims were located.
The suspect fled the scene and remained at large.
The motive for the shootings is under investigation.
