Police in Elizabeth are looking for several individuals who brutally assaulted two brothers after a football game Friday night.
According to Elizabeth City officials, a 17-year-old Elizabeth High Scholl student and his 19-year-old brother were jumped by a large crowd after the game.
Elizabeth officials said the incident occurred in the McDonald's parking lot just behind the stadium on Fillmore Street.
Police and EMS found the badly beaten 17-year-old on the ground unconscious after the crowd pummeled, then stomped him. He was rushed to University Hospital in Newark for treatment and remained in stable condition.
According to Elizabeth Police, the 19-year-old was taken to Trinitas, where he was treated for minor injuries to his head.
Elizabeth Police said the detective bureau conducted interviews and also spoke to the victims’ parents.
Detective Valladares is handling the case.
It is not clear what prompted the incident.
