Somerset County officials reported that they’ve launched an investigation into a shooting that occurred in the area of North Weiss Street in the early morning hours of Sunday, September 11, 2022, in Manville.
Prosecutor McDonald stated that at approximately 5:02 a.m., Manville Police Officers were dispatched to the area of South MainStreet in response to a 9-1-1 call reporting a male suffering from a gunshot wound.
Upon arrival, Manville Police Department officers located an adult male victim with a gunshot wound who reported that he was shot while in a residence in the area of North Weiss Street.
The victim was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. Manville Police Officers then responded to the residence in the area of North Weiss Street where they located a second adult male victim who had sustained a gunshot wound.
Officials said the victim was also transported to a nearby hospital for treatment.
Detectives from the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit and Crime Scene Investigation Unit and Detectives from the Manville Police Department responded to the scene to conduct an investigation.
Both victims are expected to survive their injuries. Authorities have not released a motive as the investigation is on-going.
