Police have a crime scene established while they investigate a shooting with a person severely injured in Newark’s South Ward at this time.
Preliminary reports from the scene indicated that just before noon, gunfire rang out near the intersection of Bergen and Lyons Avenue.
Police arrived at the scene and found the victim suffering multiple gunshot wounds.
Officers secured the scene while medical personnel tended to the critically injured patient.
No arrests or descriptions of the shooters have been reported at this time.
