Newark Police officials request the public’s help identifying the shirtless suspect who assaulted and robbed a woman of her purse on August 12.
According to police, officers responded to a report about an assault in progress, which occurred at approximately 1:13 a.m. when the victim got off the bus in the 100 block of South 11th Street.
Police said that the victim was approached from behind by the suspect, who punched her in the face several times when he snatched her purse and fled southbound on South 11th Street.
According to police, the Black male wearing the blue shirt served as the lookout during the incident.
