Newark Police has the 600 block of Orange Street taken off while EMS rushed to the scene of a shooting with a male victim down at that location.
Preliminary information indicated that a gunman approached the victim and fired bullets at him, with one striking the man in his neck.
The incident happened around 8:19 p.m. near 594 Orange Street and the extent of the victim’s injuries are serious at this time.
Police have made all notifications to county authorities.
