Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella announced the arrests of Elijah Battle, 25, of Paterson and Anthony Aguilar, 24, on carjacking-related charges.
During a two-month-long investigation, Battle and Aguilar were identified as suspects in an armed carjacking that occurred in Rochelle Park on June 16, as well as a motor vehicle burglary that took place in Maywood on that same date.
According to Prosecutor Musella, on Thursday, August 11, detectives of the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office arrested Battle without incident in Passaic.
Later that same afternoon, Aguilar was served with his charges at the Bergen County Jail in Hackensack.
Prosecutor Musella stated that Battle and Aguilar were both charged with carjacking, unlawful possession of a handgun, possession of weapons for unlawful purposes, certain persons not to possess weapons, burglary to a vehicle, theft and receiving stolen property.
