A male victim suffered severe injuries in a double shooting incident in Newark's Sunday.
The early morning shooting happened just before 2 a.m. near 137 Renner Avenue.
According to a preliminary investigation, police responded to several 911 calls and a ShotSpotter activation that alerted officers of gunfire.
Several units arrived at the scene and found multiple shell casings and a vehicle struck by several bullets.
Police requested EMS expedite to the scene after they located a male victim struck multiple times by gunfire and a woman also injured after being shot at that location.
The male is reportedly in critical condition while the woman is stable at University Hospital.
The motive for the shooting is under investigation.
