Detectives are investigating the fatal shooting of a 40-year-old man in Camden on Tuesday morning, reported Camden County Prosecutor Grace C. MacAulay and Camden County Police Chief Gabriel Rodriguez.
According to officials, on Tuesday, July 19, at 10:57 a.m., officers of the Camden County Metro Police Department responded to Fortuna Grocery at Louis and Kaighn Avenue after receiving several 911 calls for reports of a robbery.
Upon arrival, officers located a male inside the store suffering from apparent gunshot wounds.
Officials said that the male was identified as 40-year-old Luis Morales. Morales was transported by ambulance to Cooper University Hospital, where he was pronounced deceased at 11:25 a.m.
This investigation is active and ongoing.
