A lieutenant of the Bergen County Sheriff's Department died after going into cardiac arrest at a charity basketball game last night, officials said.
The 47-year-old Westwood resident, collapsed during a charity game for the Tomorrow's Children Fund at Fairleigh Dickinson University.
Brian Beutel was pronounced dead at Hackensack University Medical Center.
Beutel was with the department for the last 13 years and was recently promoted to lieutenant in 2013. He leaves behind a wife and five children.
