A convicted killer from Virginia was arrested this morning in a pre-dawn raid by Essex County Sheriff's detectives, authorities said.
Sheriff Armando Fontoura stated officers from his department’s Detective Bureau and Tactical Response Team executed a Virginia Parole Board arrest warrant for David Moore, 37, at his mother’s William Street residence.
Moore violated of the terms of his parole on August 24, 2014 when he was arrested by East Orange police on weapons and drug charges.
This morning’s arrest was executed without incident.
Moore was originally arrested in December 1994 and sentenced to life imprisonment on December 15, 1997 in the shooting deaths of two male victims, ages 21 and 17.
Further information about the 1994 incident was not immediately available during this morning’s arrest.
Moore was lodged at the Essex County jail where he awaits extradition to Virginia.
