Police in Newark are reporting non-fatal injuries for a man found shot in a section of the city this evening.
At approximately 8:45 p.m., a gunman fired about a dozen rounds in the direction of the victim, who was in the vicinity of 123 South 7th Street.
When officers arrived, they found the victim suffering a bullet wound in his leg at that location.
The victim was rushed the short distance to University Hospital, where he is expected to recover.
The suspect fled the scene and remains at large.
No other injuries have been reported.
