Paterson Police are investigating the motive behind a shooting that sent two victims to the hospital Saturday.
Early morning gunfire erupted in the vicinity of East 11th Street and 5th Avenue around 3:50 a.m., prompting a police investigation.
Upon arrival, officers found a person suffering a bullet wound in his chest at that location.
Police said the victim was rushed to St. Joseph’s Hospital for treatment and remained in serious condition.
While detectives searched for evidence at the scene, officials at St. Joseph's alerted them that a second gunshot victim had entered the emergency department.
Police believe the walk-in gunshot victim is connected to the East 11th Street crime scene.
Authorities announced no arrests and the suspect remains at large.
