Authorities in Paterson reported serious injuries for a pedestrian struck by a vehicle on an interstate on Sunday morning.
Police were notified of a person struck by a vehicle in the eastbound lane of I-80 near exit 58 around 1:37 a.m.
Units arrived and found the injured pedestrian who had been hit by a car that sped from the scene.
The injured was rushed to St. Joseph's Medical Center for treatment while police searched for a white Ford Focus responsible for striking the pedestrian.
The incident is under investigation.
