Passaic County Prosecutor's Office officials were notified of a pedestrian strike that injured a pedestrian in West Milford Friday night.
Police and rescue crews were dispatched to a location on Marshall Hill Road to investigate reports of an injured person shortly before 9:45 p.m.
Upon arrival, police found the victim around 12-years-old, suffering serious injuries after a vehicle struck them at that location.
A crash investigation team evaluated the scene to find circumstances involving the collision.
No other injuries were reported.
NOTE: In an earlier version of this story, RLS Media inaccurately reported a child injured by a vehicle. The victim was not a child but was an adult.
