Police closed a section of Route 3 for more than five hours while detectives investigated a crash that injured a person Monday morning.
It happened in the westbound lanes of the highway around 12:30 a.m.
Emergency repsonders rushed to the area and found a vehicle overturned with the driver out of the car suffering serious injuries.
The victim was transported to Hackensack Medical Center suffering severe injuries.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
