Police in Newark requests the public’s assistance in identifying a male suspect wanted in connection with a carjacking that occurred on Saturday, May 14.
Police said just before 5:20 p.m., officers responded to the 100 block of Bloomfield Avenue on a call of a carjacking.
According to police, the suspect exited a white Honda HRV with dark, tinted windows, sunroof, rear plate cover, and a distinct yellow dealership advertisement on the front plate, and carjacked the victim's vehicle—described as a 2017 black Dodge Durango with tinted rear windows and sunroof.
Following the carjacking, police said both vehicles fled eastbound on Bloomfield Avenue.
Detectives investigating this incident seek the public’s help quickly identifying this suspect as part of their investigation.
The suspect is described as Hispanic, approximately 6-ft. tall with an average build, a light complexion, a full beard, and wearing a blue hooded jacket, black face mask rolled on top of his head, light-colored jeans and white and red Retro Jordan 6's (Carmine) sneakers.
