Police in Newark are actively searching for suspects wanted for an armed robbery of a gas station in the city's South Ward Saturday morning.
According to a preliminary investigation, police responded to an armed robbery in progress at the Sunoco gas station located in the 200 block of Elizabeth avenue around 12:30 a.m.
Officers arrived and were informed by employees that about four black males who wore dark clothing and armed with a gun arrived at the station and announced a robbery.
One of the assailants pointed the weapon and demanded cash from the employee before fleeing the scene with about $380.
Police believe the suspects were occupying a newer model silver Jeep Cherokee
