Paterson Police set up a crime scene while detectives investigated a shooting that injured a person in a section of the city on Thursday night.
Officers responded to reports of shots fired in the area of 236 Summer Street shortly before 10:50 p.m.
When officers arrived, they found one person struck by gunfire at that location.
The injured was rushed to St. Joseph's Medical Center for treatment and is reportedly in stable condition.
Police say the shooter fled the scene and remains at large.
