The Passaic County Prosecutor's Office said at approximately 9:00 a.m. on May 4, Passaic Police responded to the area of Market Street and Morris Street in Passaic on a report of an injured victim.
Upon arrival, officers located a witness who advised that the victim had left the area.
Shortly later, police were advised that a 28-year-old male Passaic resident arrived at Saint Joseph’s University Medical Center in Paterson seeking treatment for non-fatal injuries.
Based on the initial investigation, the victim was in the area of Market Street and Morris Street in Passaic when two unknown actors assaulted him.
During the assault, one of the actors discharged a firearm in the victim’s direction but did not strike the victim. A potential crime scene was subsequently located in the area.
The investigation remains active and ongoing.
