Detectives are investigating a shooting that killed one man and injured two others in Camden, reported Camden County Prosecutor Grace C. MacAulay and Camden County Police Chief Gabriel Rodriguez.
On Thursday, April 21, 2022, at approximately 2:51 p.m., Camden County Police Department officers responded to the area of 10th Street and Thurman Street in reference a ShotSpotter activation and multiple 911 calls reporting a person shot in that area.
Officers subsequently located one victim, Turhan Hudson, 29, of Camden, on the ground suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. The victim was transported to Cooper University Hospital, where he was pronounced deceased at approximately 3:19 p.m.
A second victim, a 25-year-old Camden man, also sustained a gunshot wound and walked into Virtua Hospital in Camden for treatment.
A third victim, a 27-year-old Camden man, sustained a graze wound and drove himself to Virtua Hospital in Camden for treatment.
Additionally, a Virtua ambulance that was present in the area of the shooting for an unrelated matter was struck once by gunfire. No injuries to the crew were reported.
The investigation is active and ongoing at this time.
