Linden police are continuing to search for a suspect that a woman found inside her home on Monday afternoon.
Police responded to an apartment building in the 300 block of Academy Terrace on a report of a burglary yesterday around 5:58 p.m., Captain James Sarnicki said. The tenant, a 28-year-old woman, told officers that she was asleep in her bedroom, when she heard footsteps in the apartment. When she looked up, she saw a man standing by the bedroom door.
The man then told her that he was sorry and left the apartment through an open window.
The woman described the intruder as a light-skinned African American man, 5’9”, facial hair, wearing a dark jacket over a gray-hooded sweatshirt, and blue jeans, Sarnicki said. The Detective Bureau is investigating.
Residents are reminded to keep their doors and windows secured and report any suspicious persons to the police department, added the captain.
