Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez has announced that on Wednesday, April 13, a Hudson County Correctional Police Officer was arrested on charges relating to falsified medical records he submitted to his employer.
According to Prosecutor Suarez, Marko Nakhla, 34, of Bayonne, is charged with Forgery.
Prosecutor Suarez stated that he was arrested without incident at the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office in Jersey City and released on a summons.
Nakhla is scheduled to make his first court appearance on Wednesday, May 4.
The investigation revealed that Nakhla submitted falsified medical records to his employer to receive additional paid medical leave.
The above charges are merely accusations, and the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
