Police were informed of a gas station armed robbery that occurred in a section of Elizabeth on Thursday.
According to reports, during the early morning hours of April 7, officers were notified of an armed robbery in progress at the Shell Gas Station located near the intersection of Newark Avenue and Fairmount.
Reports say an armed male arrived at the gas station, then pointed the gun at employees and took an undetermined amount of cash before fleeing the scene.
The suspect remains at large and no physical injuries were reported.
Elizabeth residents say there has been a spike in criminal activity and drug trafficking in the area that extends to the Newark border.
