The State Regional Medical Examiner's Office will determine the cause of death for a person found dead inside a building in East Orange on Saturday.
The Essex County Prosecutor's Office referred all inquiries to East Orange Police officials, who confirmed the incident and stated that no foul play was suspected.
RLS Media learned that at approximately 11:20 a.m., firefighters were called dispatched to a multi-family building in the 90's block of Chestnut Street to perform a welfare check on a person inside one of its residences.
When emergency repsonders made entry into the apt, they found the unconscious and unresponsive body of an unidentified person inside one of the apartments not currently involved in the incident.
The Essex County Prosecutor's Office stated that the social media rumors that a person killed inside the residence was unfounded and untrue.
