Firefighters in Monmouth County Battled an early morning fire that destroyed a business in Matawan on Tuesday morning.
Several fire companies were dispatched to Aby's Mexican Restaurant located at 32 Mian Street to investigate reports of a fire shortly before 2:50 a.m.
Firefighters arrived and found heavy fire coming from the area of the 1-story commercial building.
Crews stretched several lines and were able to extinguish the fire in under a half-hour but not before flames destroyed much of the business.
A neighboring pet store suffered some damage and ASPCA was requested to the scene to assist animals.
The cause of the fire is under investigation and no injuries were reported.
