Police officials in Newark at investigating a shooting that injured person in the city's South Ward this afternoon.
At approximately 12:15 p.m., police responded to reports of shots fired in the vicinity of 648 Clinton Avenue.
When officers arrived, they found shell casings and a male suffering a bullet wound in his leg at that location.
The victim was rushed to University Hospital for treatment and is reportedly in stable condition.
The suspect fled the scene and remains art at large.
