Bergen County officials reported the arrest of Mr. Michael Alfone, 78, of Ramsey on possession of explicit images of minors charges.
According to officials, on Friday, March 4, members of the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Cyber Crimes Unit executed a search warrant at the residence of Alfone during the course of a months-long Internet child pornography investigation.
The investigation revealed that Alfone used the Internet to view, download, and possess approximately 100 digital files depicting nude and/or explicit prepubescent and pubescent minors.
As a result of the investigation, Alfone was arrested on Friday, March 18, in Paramus.
Prosecutor Musella states that the charge is merely an accusation and that the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.
Prosecutor Musella thanks the Ramsey Police Department for their assistance, as well as the Bergen County Sheriff’s Office, the Lyndhurst Police Department, and the Paramus Police Department, which participate in the Bergen County Cyber Crimes Task Force.
