Police set up a crime scene in a section of Newark’s Central Ward while detectives canvassed the area for evidence after shooters fired shots in the neighborhood Saturday morning.
It happened near the intersection of Norfolk and Hartford streets shortly before 9:25 a.m.
Residents dialed 911 after hearing gunfire near the intersection.
Police arrived and found multiple shell casings and at least two unoccupied cars struck by bullets.
Officers canvassed the area for victims, but no injuries were reported.
The suspect fled the scene and remained at large.
