Newark Police are on the scene of a shooting with a person down in the city’s West Ward at this time.
At approximately 7:40 p.m., police responded to reports of shots fired in the area of South Orange Avenue and Munn.
Upon arrival, police found multiple shell casings at that location.
While canvassing the scene, officers located a female suffering a gunshot wound, according to a preliminary investigation.
The victim was rushed to Univerity Hospital in stable condition.
Police reported no arrests and the suspect remains at large.
