Authorities in Newark are investigating a reported carjacking in the city's East Ward on Monday night.
A preliminary investigation indicated that at approximately 9:40 p.m., police were dispatched to the vicinity of 12 Jabez Street to take a report of a carjacking.
Units arrived and began searching for a gray 2021 Toyota Rav 4 reportedly taken at gunpoint at that location.
The vehicle has a NY licenses plate number "KMS-7698".
The suspect fled the scene and remained at large.
No injuries were reported.
