Ocean County officials are investigating a shooting that sent a child to the hospital in Barnegat Township overnight.
Police responded to a report of shots fired in the 20's block of Sextant Drive around 12:20 a.m. Sunday.
Officers arrived and found a teenage boy suffering a non-life threatening gunshot wound to his foot at that location.
Police say the victim was transported to the hospital, where he remains in stable condition.
Authorities have not confirmed if the shooting is self-inflicted at this time.
There were no other injuries reported.
