Newark Police requests the public’s help with identifying the suspects who robbed a city resident of his wallet and cellphone on March 5.
According to police officials, the victim told officers at the Second Precinct that the suspects approached him around 10 p.m. when he was walking in the 600 block of Summer Avenue.
Police said that one of the men rifled through the victim’s pocket, taking his wallet and cellphone, and the second suspect, who pulled out a handgun, struck him in the face with the weapon.
According to police, the first suspect was wearing a purple and grey bubble jacket, a sweatshirt with a black hood, blue jeans, purple and grey sneakers, and a black skull cap.
Police officials also stated that the suspect with the weapon was wearing a black sweatshirt with a hood, light grey pants, grey or white Nike Jordan sneakers, and a bright orange backpack with white straps.

All anonymous Crime Stopper tips are kept confidential and could result in a reward.
