Police detained two potential suspects who are believed connected to an armed robbery of a liquor store in Jersey City Thursday evening.
Police were dispatched to West Side Liquor located at 470 West Side Avenue to investigate reports of an armed robbery in progress.
Units arrived and were informed that two suspects entered the establishment wearing dark hoodies and armed with a gun just before 9:50 p.m.
Police say the suspects took an unknown amount of cash before speeding from the scene in a vehicle. The suspects were also wanted for at least one other robbery of a person for their cell phone.
According to reports, at approximately midnight, the cell phone robbery victim notified police that the phone was tracked to a vehicle in the vicinity of John F. Kennedy Boulevard and Communipaw Avenue.
Police found two individuals inside the vehicle and recovered the phone.
Both incidents remain under investigation.
