A vehicle found completely stripped and left on a city street has police in Newark investigating Sunday.
According to reports, police received a report of a vandalized vehicle on Varsity Road and Kerrigan Boulevard in Newark's West Ward before 6:30 a.m.
Police arrived at the scene found the car stripped of its wheels, hood, and several items in the engine compartment.
Authorities believe the car was stripped at that location by thieves who hit other cars in the Essex County region.
Newark Police will lead the investigation.
