Officials at NJ Transit are looking into the cause of a pedestrian strike that killed a man on their tracks in Morris County on Thursday night.
NJ Transit said that at approximately 8:45 p.m., Morris & Essex Line train #674 departed from Dover at 8:26 p.m. and was scheduled to arrive in Hoboken at 9:46 p.m., struck and fatally injured an adult male pedestrian near Morristown Station in Morristown.
According to NJ Transit officials, no injuries were reported to the two customers and crew members on board.
Rail service was temporarily suspended between Madison and Dover but has resumed.
New Jersey Transit Police are leading the investigation.
