Carjackings in Hillside and Newark has police investigating.
Hillside police responded to a carjacking that took place shortly before 9:30 p.m. in the area of Long Ave. and Liberty Ave. where the suspects (reportedly armed with weapons) took a Honda Accord from the victim. A swift and heavy police presence in the area had authorities locating that vehicle unoccupied a short distance away. Police are looking for two black males who were wearing dark clothing.
A strong armed carjacking that occurred in the 200 block of Ferry Street in Newark at around 9:25 p.m. had police looking for the suspect that took a white 2005 Mercedes Benz C30 with a reported NJ license plate number " T67-AEU". The suspect was reportedly accompanied by a black Chevrolet SUV.
There were no injuries reported.
