Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez said on Saturday, February 12, shortly after 8:20 p.m., the Jersey City Police Department responded to the area of 112 Myrtle Avenue on a report of shots fired.
According to Prosecutor Suarez, responding officers found a male victim outside that location with an apparent gunshot wound to the torso.
The injured male, later identified as Devin Bryant, 15, of Jersey City, was transported by Emergency Medical Services to Jersey City Medical Center.
Prosecutor Suarez said he was pronounced dead at approximately 9:10 p.m.
The cause and manner of death are pending the findings of the Regional Medical Examiner’s Office.
No arrests have been made at this time.
The Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide Unit is actively investigating this case with assistance from the Jersey City Police Department.
