A gunshot victim was airlifted to the hospital after a shooting in Perth Amboy Friday evening.
The incident took place on Chamberlain Avenue around 5:47 p.m.
Police responded to reports of shots fired, then arrived and found an unconscious and unresponsive male suffering a bullet wound at that location.
The Middlesex County Prosecutor's Office was notified of the shooting and an investigation is active and ongoing.
Police reported no other injuries from the incident.
