Elizabeth Detectives arrested a man and charged him with the violent assault of a juvenile Wednesday.
Officials said the suspect, around 40-years-old, was tracked down to a neighborhood in Newark today.
Elizabeth Police said just before 4 p.m., Wednesday, officers were dispatched to the vicinity of Marshall and 3rd streets to investigate reports of an injured person.
Upon arrival, police found a severely beaten, unconscious teenager at that location.
This victim is in critical condition and the motive for the attack is under investigation.
Police have not released a motive for the assault.
