Police in Newark requests the public’s help identifying a male wanted in connection with a burglary and theft from an automobile that occurred on Friday, January 14.
Police say just after 10 a.m., a male driver and two passengers arrived at the 100 block of Hawthorne Avenue to meet with the seller of a truck he was considering purchasing.
After learning that the for-sale truck wouldn’t start, the potential buyer asked for assistant from his two passengers, who initially remained inside his vehicle.
The passengers exited the vehicle, leaving it unlocked. When the driver and passengers returned to their vehicle they observed that an iPad Pro and a bag containing $34,000.00 was stolen from the vehicle.
Detectives investigating this incident obtained surveillance footage showing the below-pictured male entering the victim’s vehicle and stealing the items.
Police seek the public’s help in quickly identifying this suspect as part of the investigation.
