NJ State Police are investigating a crash that killed a Somerset resident on a highway in Bedminster.
Troopers responded to the crash at 4:20 a.m. on Interstate 287 south, milepost 22.4, Bedminster.
Officials said, based on a preliminary investigation, a Mazda passenger car was traveling south on I-287 in the area of milepost 22.4.
The Mazda struck pedestrian Mr. Juan S. Gonzalez - Genchi, 24, of Somerset, in the roadway.
As a result of the crash, police said Gonzalez-Genchi suffered fatal injuries.
The crash remains under investigation and officials had no other additional information available.
It is not clear what Gonzalez-Genchi was doing on the highway at this time.
