Police in Newark are investigating an early morning vandalism incident that left one of their vehicles damaged in the city's downtown district.
At approximately 3:35 a.m., police responded to 189 Market Street to investigate reports of property damage at that location.
Upon arrival, police found one of their marked cruisers with the back window completely smashed and at least two business storefront windows broken.
During officers' investigation, they found that the suspect used an electric scooter to destroy the car and business windows during their rampage.
The suspect fled the scene, and there are no reports of arrests.
The investigation is active.
