Camden Car Stop Leads to Arrest of Fugitive Wanted for Attempted Murder

Camden County Police Department Officer Alexander Dimedio apprehended a fugitive wanted for attempted murder Sunday. Officer Dimedio was on directed patrol addressing quality of life issues when he observed Dashon Green, 31, of Camden, driving a gray Chevrolet Monte Carlo on Kaighn Avenue.  Green was wanted as the suspect in a Jan. 16 shooting incident on the 1000 block of Mechanic Street. Officer Dimedio stopped the vehicle at the corner of West and Royden streets where Green was arrested without incident and found to be in possession of ecstasy. Green was charged from the Jan. 16 incident with three counts of Criminal Attempted Murder and one count each of Aggravated Assault, Possession of a Weapon For an Unlawful Purpose, Unlawful Possession of a Weapon, Endangering the Welfare of a Child and Certain Persons Not to Have Weapons.  The Certain Persons charge is based on a previous drug distribution conviction.  Green was also charged with Possession of a CDS for the ecstasy officers recovered Sunday.  Green was remanded to the county jail with bail set at $1,975,000 cash or bond.
