Mega Millions Has Two $5K Winners in Middlesex, Essex Counties

Trenton New Jersey

Carole Hedinger, New Jersey Lottery Executive Director, announced that there were no Mega Millions game jackpot or second tier New Jersey prizewinners, but there were two $5,000 third prizewinning tickets sold that matched the four white balls and the Gold Mega Ball for the Tuesday, Feb. 24 drawing.

If those tickets were purchased with the Megaplier option, they would have been worth $15,000 each.

One of the winning tickets was purchased in Essex County at 7-Eleven #21390 (N), 38 Passaic Ave., Nutley and the other was bought in Middlesex County at Wegman’s Food Markets, 15 Woodbridge Center Dr., Woodbridge.

In addition, there were 22 players whose tickets matched the 4 white balls, making their tickets worth $500.

Moreover, 102,327 other New Jersey players took home $174,573 in prizes ranging from $1 to $150, according to Hedinger.

“Congratulations to the lottery winners and to the retailers that sold all of those winning tickets,” said Hedinger. “For selling the winning tickets, the retailers have become many more Lottery ‘lucky locations’ overnight.” The winning numbers for the Tuesday, Feb. 24 drawing were: 15, 23, 26, 45 and 66. The Gold Mega Ball was 04, and the Megaplier Multiplier was 03.
