Rahway New Jersey

.

Tickets are now available for DREAMGIRLS to be presented March 6th– 8th, 13th and 14th at 8p.m. and March 15th at 3p.m., at the Union County Performing Arts Center in Rahway.

Produced by Mystic Vision Players, DREAMGIRLS, is a groundbreaking musical, loosely based on the career of The Supremes, that takes you to a revolutionary time in American music history when rhythm and blues blended with other styles of popular music and created a new American sound—Motown.

In the ‘60s, three friends form The Dreamettes and get their big break at an amateur competition, and begin singing backup vocals for a major star. As their own fame grows, however, things begin to spin out of control when their agent’s business maneuvers trump their friendship, and fortune and success take them down a path of heartbreak and turmoil. Over two decades The Dreams, as they become known, learn hard lessons about love, trust and the changing tastes of the American public.

Following the behind-the-scenes reality of the entertainment industry, DREAMGIRLS shows us the highs and lows that come with fame, greed and misguided loyalties, and the need for defining what is important in following one’s dreams.

The show features Direction by Bobby Devarona and Howard Whitmore, with Choreography by Michael Miguel, Music Direction by Jarred Lee and Production by Rita Greco and Howard Whitmore.

Tickets can be purchased online at ucpac.org or through the UCPAC Box Office at 732-499-8226; prices are $15 for adults and $12 for students and seniors with valid identification.
