Police in Newark detained a man and are on the search for a second person wanted for attempted burglary of a business in Newark's Ironbound section on Monday morning.
East Ward officers on routine crime suppression patrol were notified of a commercial burglary in progress near the intersection of Wilson Avenue and Gotthart Street around 3:10 a.m.
Fast responding officers found two masked males running from the burglarized establishment with its door opened.
According to preliminary reports, police captured one of the suspects, but the other assailant remains at large.
The incident is under investigation.
