A reported home invasion robbery that took place in a quiet Irvington community has police investigating.
Residents said a swift police response had officers storm the 30's block of Laventhal Ave. Sunday afternoon at around 12:30 p.m. after receiving reports of armed men who were reportedly attempting to get inside a house at that location. Residents said close to a dozen police officers surrounded the neighborhood, taking two men into custody a short time later.
"The particular house where police focused on has been a constant "community nuisance" and has seen increased police activity within the past several months" a neighbor said.
Police spent about an hour searching for other evidence while they closed off the block for the investigation.
