Authorities in Newark were engaged in a foot pursuit for suspects who bailed from a vehicle carjacked in Montclair this evening.
Montclair Police reported an armed carjacking of a white Porsche Cayenne that occurred in the 10’s block of Melrose Place before 7:30 p.m.
Suspects reportedly pointed a gun at the victim in Montclair then sped away in the car.
At around 7:45 p.m., officers from The Essex County Sheriff’s Office and Newark Police spotted the vehicle and gave chase.
The suspects bailed from the vehicle near 199 3rd Street, where cops captured one of the males without further incident.
The carjacked vehicle was recovered at the scene.
There were no injuries reported.
